We had an amazing experience at Lucia. We went on a Friday night without a reservation and had to wait for about 15 minutes. There are 2 dining rooms and both are small and cozy. Our kids enjoyed the pasta marinara and the pepperoni pizza, which was hailed the "best pizza ever"! We had the mushroom ravioli and one of the veal specials and both were fabulous. We then got the sorbets which were served in their respective shell, lemon and coconut. Server was friendly and professional. We will visit again and recommend to anyone!

Lucia's is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant. I discovered it through a friend who is Italian, lives nearby, and recommended it as the most authentic Italian spot in town. Just up the stairs on Thames Street to the restaurant awaits two major dining rooms with beautiful decor and dim nighttime lighting. We requested a table with a view which added a romantic aesthetic to our evening. My date ordered the salmon and I ordered the Pizza alla Parmigiana. We both greatly enjoyed our dishes and they tasted authentic based on our experiences in Italy. We were enticed to order dessert and were satisfied with our selection of the chocolate cake. The service was incredibly kind, however, we waited a while for our food as well as to be seated. If I returned to Lucia's, I would recommend ordering an appetizer and drinks while I waited so that it would be more enjoyable. The parking around Thames Street is difficult, even with the paid parking offered so I recommend ride share options or walking. Lastly, they generously offer a 10% discount to retired and active duty service members. I would gladly come again and recommend this option to anyone who visits Newport.

Classic Italian spot, very old school. Great drinks, amazing food. Our server was attentive and personable and Lucia is super sweet, it's great to see an owner involved and ready to help her staff!

I tried every Italian restaurant in Newport and this place is by far the best. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and it's made to order. I also try different Italian restaurants across the east coast and compare their red sauce and pasta since it's a fundamental baseline. This is honestly one of the best I've ever had for simple red sauce and pasta. I will definitely eat here next and every time I visit Newport. Service was also quick, kind and helpful. It's a little on the small side so you may want to make a reservation during peak tourist times.

Wonderful pasta! Amazing service! We had a party of 5, they sat us as soon as we arrived for our reservation, great wine & iced tea. I highly recommend going when you're in town

Food is good, our server was very polite and friendly. They only serve beer and wine.

Really delicious food and lovely ambiance! It's a wee bit expensive for the portion size but worth it if you want some warm yummy Italian food. Bread is also really good but it's $2 for additional baskets (which we got because it was good- lol!) Our server Hassan was great and we didn't have to wait for a table. Totally recommend stopping by if you're in the Newport area- it's right on Thames Street!

Very nice and cozy Italian reminiscent of what you'd find in the North End in Boston serving Northern Italian fare. Me and my family loved everything we ordered including the Garden Salad and the Creamy Mushroom soup. For desert we had the blueberry crumble cheesecake which we recommend!
